Events in and around Mount Alexander

Greetings and welcome to the wonderful region of Mount Alexander located in Victoria, Australia. As the seasons change, so do the happenings and events in the area. Whether you're a local or a visitor, there is always something fun and exciting to do in the region. Here are some of the seasonal highlights:

Autumn:

Autumn in Mount Alexander is a beautiful time to be outdoors. Be sure to check out the annual "Castlemaine Botanical Gardens Autumn Festival" which is held in late March. The event features traditional autumnal crafts and foods, as well as stunning floral displays. Another great activity is exploring the local wineries. Take a tour of the beautiful vineyards and enjoy some of the delicious wines produced in the area.

Winter:

Mount Alexander winters are chilly, but there are plenty of events to warm you up. Head to the historic city of Bendigo, which is just a short drive away, to attend the annual "Bendigo Writers Festival" which takes place in August. The event features a diverse range of talks, workshops, and performances from world-renowned authors. If you're looking for a fun, family-friendly activity, be sure to check out the "Castlemaine Winter Festival" which is held in late July. This lively event features a range of music and arts events, as well as a spectacular lantern parade.

Spring:

As the weather starts to warm up, there are plenty of outdoor events to enjoy in Mount Alexander. The highlight of the season is the "Castlemaine State Festival" which takes place in March. The festival features a diverse range of art, music, dance, and theatrical performances from local and international artists. For something a little more low-key, head to the "Maldon Vintage Machinery Museum" where you can explore a range of historic machinery and exhibits.

Summer:

Summers in Mount Alexander are warm and sunny, making it the perfect time to enjoy the great outdoors. Head to the "Goldfields Track" for a scenic hike or bike ride. Be sure to pack some water and refreshments, as the track can be quite challenging. Another great summer activity is exploring the local markets. The "Castlemaine Farmers Market" and the "Wesley Hill Market" both offer a range of fresh produce and locally-crafted goods.
